先日、英検２級の１次試験を受けました。
The other day, I took the first exam for Eiken Gurade 2.

試験会場は隣の市の私立高校でした。
The test site was a private high school in a neighboring city.

車で勤務先の駐車場まで行き、そしてそれから最寄りの駅で電車に乗って行きました。
I went to the parking lot of my office by my car, and then took tha train at the nearest  sutation .

私は電車が大好きなので、良い気分転換になりました。
I love trains, so it was a good change of pace.

でも残念なことに試験会場は寒かったため、風邪をひいてしまいました。
Unfortunatery, houever, I caught a cold because it was cold at the exam site

落ちるとわかっているのにもかかわらずお金をかけて受験し、風邪まで引くのだからバカみたいですね。
I feel like an idiot because I spent money to take the exam even though I know I would fail and  I even caught a cold.

でも私は人は戦って成長すると思っているので、挑戦はやめません。
But I think that fighting allows people to grow, so I won't stop trying.

ちなみに、受験者の中には６０〜７０歳くらいの男性もいました。
By the way, there was one man  about 60 to 70 years old among the examinees.

私は彼から勇気をもらいました。
I got courage from him.
