１月に受験したTOEICの結果が出ました。
The results of the TOEIC test taken in January are in.

なんと３５０点でした。
I scored 350 points.

あまりのひどさにショックで落ち込みました。
It was so bad that I was shocked and depressed.

一応英検２級に合格していますし、模擬テストの結果も５００点ぐらいだったので、
悪くても４００点代だと思って臨んだのです。
I had already passed Eiken Grade 2, and the result of the practice test was around 500 point,  I thought my score would be around 400 at worst. .

そしたら試験会場が狭くて机と椅子がとても近く、問題用紙が顔から近すぎ見えなかったのです。
However, the exam room was so small and the desks and chairs were so close together that  I could 't see the quiestion paper because it was too close to my face. 

そう、老眼です。
Yes, I have presbuopia.

座席についた瞬間「終わった」と思いました。
As soon as I got to my seat, I thought, " It's over".

なんとか見えるよう問題用紙から顔を離し、イナバウアーのような姿勢で頑張ったのですが。。。
I managed to move  my face away from the question paper and tried my best to hold it up
like an "ina nauer" so that I could see the paper.

私だけ異常に姿勢が良くて目立っていただろうな。
I must have stood out because I was the only one with unusually good posture.

ちくしょーーー！
Damn!

次回からは老眼鏡をかけて臨みます。
I will try with senior grassees next.
