日本語能力試験:JLPT
来月、日本語能力試験が行われます。
The JLPT will be held next month.
日本語脳力テストはN5からN1まであり、N1に合格すると通訳になれます。
It ranges from N5 to N1, and if you pass N1, you can become an interpreter.
でも大変難しく、日本人でさえ全問正解はできません。
However, it's very difficult and even Japanese people can't answer all the questions correctly.
つまり、引っかけがあるのです。
Which means that there are some tricky questions.
私も挑戦してみましたが、18問中16問しかできませんでした。
I tryed, but I could only get 16 out of 18 questions right.
英会話サークルの外国人男性がN2(グレード2)に挑戦しようとしています。
A foreign man in my English conversation circle is trying to take the N2 test.
彼は言いました。He was like,
「N2に合格したら日本のコンビニエンスストアで働くんだよ」
If I pass the N2 test, I'll work at the convenience store in Japan.
もちろん冗談です。彼はアメリカ海軍の軍人ですから。
Of course, he was joking, because he is a soldier of the U.S. Navy.
そこで、私は彼のためにオリジナルの問題を作ってあげました。
So I made an original question for him.
私が読む日本語を聞いて書く、聞き取り問題です。
It's a "listening comprehension" question, in which he listens to the Japanese I read and writes it down.
「箸を持って、橋の端を走れ」という問題でした。
The Question was,"Take your chopsticks and run along the edge of the bridge."
残念なことに彼は「端」だけが不正解でした。
Unfortunatery, he answered only "edge" incorrectly.
もともと漢字も意味も知らないそうです。
He originally knew neither the Kanji nor the meaning.
橋の絵を描いて説明したけど「橋の端は歩道のことだよね?」と言うのです。
I drew a picture of a bridge and explained it to him, but he said, "The edge of the bride means the sidewalk, right?" He said.
私もたくさん説明したけれど、理解してもらえたかは微妙です。
I explained a lot, but I'm not sure if he understood.
