とうとう本格的な冬が始まりました。
Finally, winter has started in earnest.

今、雪が降っています。
It is snowing now.

車を所有している人なら知っていると思うのですが、冬は冬用のタイヤを装着して運転します。
As anyone who owns a car knows, in winter, we drive with winter tires.

この地域では、11月の最後の週までにタイヤ交換をするのが一般的です。
In this area, it is common to change tires by the last week of November.

そして4月中旬頃に夏用のタイヤに戻します。
We then change back to summer tiras  around mid-Aplil.

冬用タイヤの寿命は長くて５年。
The life of winter tires is 5 years at most.

本当は３年ごとに新品に変えると一番安全なのですが、私はいつも４年で交換しています。
 In fact, it is safest to change them for new ones every 3 yeras, but I always change them  after 4 years.

タイヤ交換は自分でできるものの、寒くて辛いため、いつもカーディーラーか、ガソリンスタンドで交換してもらっています。
Although I can change the tires myself, I always have them changed at a car dealership or at a gas station because it is cold and painful.

タイヤ1本につき1本550円なので、4本交換すると2200円。
Each tire costs 550 yen per tiye, so changing 4 tires costs 2,200 yen.

ワイパーも冬用に交換します。
I also change the windshield wipers for winter.

ワイパーって、前2本と後ろ1本、全て長さが違うのですが、知ってました？
Wipers are all different lengths, two in the front and one in the back, did you know that?

全てサイズが違うので、たった1本だけ劣化しても他の部分で代用できず、新しく購入しなければいけません。
Since they are all different sizes, even if only one deteriorates, it cannot be replaced by another part and a new one must be purchased.

そして今、ドライブレコーダーをつけようか迷っています。
And now, I'm wondering if I should insrall a drive recorder.

車にかかる経費って高いよなあ。。。。
I guess car expenses are so expensive....
